We are saved by the grace of God alone – not by anything we do
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and the first fruits from all your crops. Then your barns will be full, and your wine barrels will overflow with new wine.” -Proverbs 3:9-10
God wants to be first place in our lives. It usually comes down to a choice: Do I trust in the blessings, or do I trust in the Blesser? When we return to God the first portion of our income, it is evident that He has first place in our lives. And when God is first, it opens the door for Him to bless us more.
God’s work is the most important work on earth. When a church family has faithful Christ followers who put God first in their finances, the church is able to effectively carry out the mission of reaching people and making Christ known. Every dollar a person brings back to God is an investment in speading his word and helping others.
